2011 is quickly coming to a close, and as always, it can end on a very positive note thanks to THE POLAR PLUNGE FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS.

This year, I have volunteered to help emcee the event for Special Olympics Alaska AND jump in the frigid waters of Goose Lake...because there's nothing quite as relaxing after work as taking a nice swim (my 3rd polar plunge).  So, I hope you can come out on December 17th and show your support for all of the plungers, many who will be in outrageous costumes.  Last year, I was joined by my fellow Total Traffic reporters and we were the Blues Brothers.

And as always, the most important thing about the event is raising money to support those inspiring Special Olympics Athletes.  There are two ways you can help:

  • Click on my Polar Plunge Page and make a donation there.  I'd also be very thankful if you would SHARE the page link with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, and emails .
  •  Become a Polar Plunger yourself by going to www.specialolympicsalaska.org.  It's easy to do. There's no registration fee.  You just have to earn a minimum of $100 in donations.  Plus, there are great prizes for fundraising goals that you achieve.

So come on in!  The water's fine!  Join us and start Freezin' For A Reason.  Get your goose bumps at Goose Lake and wrap up your year helping a great cause--Special Olympics Alaska!  ~Brian
