4-20-2009, John O'Hurley stopped in for an interview on one of our stations and graciously posed for pictures. He was in Anchorage playing King Arthur in the musical Monty Python's Spamalot. And we will always remember him as J. Peterman from Seinfeld and those GCI commercials.

GET READY TO BID!!
Our THREE DAY ONLINE AUCTION is happening October 9-11. This can really help stretch this year's Permanent Fund Dividend. Just type in the keyword "BID" up in the search engine.
Personally, here's what I think will be the most popular items bid on.
SHOPPING SPREES FROM DIMOND CENTER: What a great way to get great selection AND save money. There are 30 of these DC gift cards you could bid on. Find them under "Shopping Sprees."
AIR AND TRAIN TICKETS: via Era Alaska and the Alaska Railroad, under "Travel." Eight auction items are in that section.
TATTOO REMOVAL: Come to find out that you really don't want to reminisce about that no-longer special someone? Or want to forget the memento you got after a night you can't remember? There are four items up for bid from Lasercare Tattoo Removal. And as a bonus, you get to see LASERS!! Lasers = awesome!
Hundreds of items are up for bid. Check them out and set aside some cash for the Clear Channel Media & Entertainment 3-Day Online Auction!!
Oh, my my Miley! You are soooooo going on my DVR this weekend. Yes, after here much publicized twerking demonstration with (and around and against) Robin Thicke at the VMA's, she's going to be Saturday Night Live's host and musical guest.
Hmmmm. Well, I'm looking forward to it, because I remember the last time she was on SNL, she had some killer sketches.
And let me take a moment to show my appreciation to KCB at KGOT (Magic 98.9's noisy next door neighbor) for this thoughtful gift. He has given Alaska's Total Traffic a Total Traffic signal.
Now everyone who passes by the Total Traffic studio will stop and take notice...if it's red. Or they might just slow down or keep moving. It just depends on which light is on. THANKS, KCB!!
With so many things competing for my attention, my DVR is filling up fast! Luckily, Magic 98.9 has cable in the studio, and The Voice is set to record on it. Otherwise, I might have missed this. Star of The Big Bang Theory (and of my heart) KALEY CUOCO has a sister named Briana who competed on The Voice. Catch Bri's performance here as her sis cheers her on.
***SPOILER ALERT*** She made it!
And speaking of voices, PETER DINKLAGE has recently rocketed up to the top spot of my list of favorite actors. I spent a weekend geeking out to Seasons 1 and 2 of Game of Thrones and LOVED IT!
Then I find out, not only is Peter Dinklage an amazing actor, and not only does he have killer pipes--radio deejay lingo for a speaking voice I would kill/steal/die for, but then Peter appears on Sesame Street and proves HE CAN ALSO SING!!!
Thanks for dropping by my blog. Remember to hit the main page at www.Magic989fm.com to check out our latest blogs, contests, and see what's up in The Feed.
SCIENTISTS CREATE A LIGHT SABER??
It looks like a pair of scientists from Harvard/MIT have been experimenting with photons and rubidium atoms, to form NEW MOLECULES with unusual properties. I wonder how long it will be before they put the tecnology into an elegant weapon from a more civilized time.

And here is the photo album of the trials and tribulations of BIKE MS 2013. The three bikers of TEAM I.T.Y. (Blain, Aniela, and I), with the help of many generous people, raised over $1300 for the National MS Society.
DONATIONS ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED UNTIL OCTOBER 14TH. CLICK HERE TO DONATE AND HELP CURE MS.
On Wednesday, July 31, I helped out the Alaska Club for another session of YOGA IN THE PARK. We had about 325 people participating in a one hour FREE yoga session, led by instructors from the Alaska Club. Click my picture above to see the photo album.
ONE MORE SESSION IS LEFT, so join the Alaska Club and Magic 98.9 on Wednesday, August 7th from 6pm-7pm on the Park Strip at 9th and I.
Here is a short video I managed to get with my cell phone and put on our Magic 98.9 Facebook page.
BrianBikes.com is updated!!
Please click to check it out and help support me and Team I.T.Y. on Bike MS, coming up in early September! We are trying to raise $1000 to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis.
Here are some pics of the training rides I've done so far this year.
Over the weekend I took photos for two galleries; One to make you go "OOOOO!" and the the other to make you go "AAAAWWWW!" Check 'em out. One of the USS Anchorage and the other from the Alaska Zoo Kids' Fun Run.
Over the weekend, I was honored to help out at the Special Olympics Alaska Winter Games. Athletes from around the state came out to compete in Alpine skiiing and snowboarding, floor hockey, skating and snow shoeing events.
It was a fun weekend, and I was honored to be an announcer for the opening ceremonies and at Alpine Skiing/Snow Boarding. Click the gold medal above to see the PHOTO ALBUM of the pictures I took.

ONCE AGAIN, WOMEN TAKE TO THE TRAILS!!
The 17th Annual Alaska Ski For Women is coming up on the day of the big game--Sunday, February 3rd at Kincaid Park! It's going to be fun, festive, and it will help improve the lives of women and children.
Not only is this the largest all-women cross country ski event in North America, but it features some of the most creative and colorful costumes I've seen, on or off skis. Check out these videos.
And procedes from the event help out agencies that aid women and children and help to end the cycle of abuse, such as AWAIC, STAR, and Covenant House.
Once again, I'll be helping to emcee this event--proudly announcing winners as they cross the finish line and judging the costume contests.
The Alaska Ski for Women is open to women of all ages and skill levels. If you want to join, as a solo skiier or as a team, get more info and register at this link.
And check out some of the fantastic costumes at this page. Monarch butterflies, giraffes, Rubik's Cubes, domino's and more!
See you there! Thanks for loggin' where I'm bloggin'.
