4-20-2009, John O'Hurley stopped in for an interview on one of our stations and graciously posed for pictures. He was in Anchorage playing King Arthur in the musical Monty Python's Spamalot. And we will always remember him as J. Peterman from Seinfeld and those GCI commercials.
Thanks for scrolling down this far. That mouse must feel heavy. Let's take a moment to relax with this musical interlude: BRIAN'S AWESOME 80'S VID PICK.

BIKE MS COMPLETED!
(Modified due to weather)
Last weekend, on September 15th, TEAM I.T.Y. assembled at Girdwood to ride in BIKE MS. However, because of the anticipated storms with high winds expected, ride organizers cut it down from 150 miles in two days to just 25 miles in one day.
Still, those 25 miles were VERY wet and chilly, leaving the riders shivering and my own tootsies red and cold. Here are the photos. Sorry I couldn't get more "on the trail" shots, but my camera battery indicator has been malfunctioning.
(Click the picture to see Brian's BIKE MS Gallery)
Thank you to everyone who dontated to sponsor the Bike MS riders. With your support, I managed to raise $625 our of Team I.T.Y.'s $2130. Bike MS Alaska raised over $100,000 and COUNTING!
If you would like to make a post-ride donation to the National MS Society, CLICK HERE and sponsor any of Team I.T.Y.'s members. Donations are being accepted through October 15th and are tax deductible.
Thanks for loggin' where I'm bloggin'! Rubber to the road!!
PS: To find out what "TEAM I.T.Y." means, read the picture captions in the gallery.
So, Magic 98.9 has chances to win Seinfeld tickets, a trip to Vegas to the iHeart Radio Music Festival, a Hawaiian getaway (coming soon), and as a bonus, I FOUND SOME FUNNY PICS.
I think the first one is the funniest, but it took me a minute or too...I mean two, to find it.
That one's from Funny or Die, www.funnyordie.com
Now, when being able to put perforate every inch of a football field juuuust won't cut it, here is a Demotivational Poster for you.
And finally, the reason why I was never good at hitching a ride when I was a lumberjack...
Try to get a little laugh in each day. And if you don't, chances are the laugh's on you.
Thanks for loggin' where I'm bloggin'.
Sorry for the delay on this. Here are some photos and a YouTube video, wrapping up how April went OVER THE EDGE, along with many other volunteers that raised money for the YMCA of Anchorage.
I personally watched safely from the ground, under a tent, drinking coffee like a sane person.
It was a great event, and I got to emcee on Friday and even did an impromptu sing-along with the YMCA kids, part of which you can see in the video. Who knows, maybe next year we'll be ready for America's Got Talent.
Click the photo above to see the Over The Edge photo gallery.
AND HERE IS THE VIDEO, Produced by Chrys Castle--a name you will soon be hearing at Sundance!
Thank you for supporting the YMCA of Anchorage, and a special thanks to all of the brave people who went Over The Edge!
"Being a radio deejay must be a fun job"
People tell me that all the time, and yes, it is! But check out THESE dream gigs which make me consider stepping back from the mic.
Caretaker of Paradise Island: "Ben Southall managed to score a $120,000, six-month gig as caretaker and unofficial ambassador of a tropical Australian island," MSNBC says. His job? To snorkel, swim and walk the beaches of this tiny island in Australia.
Brian's note: I rushed to put in a resume' because I thought it was the island where WONDER WOMAN and the Amazons lived. Slightly disappointed....
Chocolate Tester: Sally McKinnon, who is a chocolate taster and product development manager for the grocery chain Tesco told MSNBC that it's "the best job in the world." If you've got a sweet tooth, this is the job for you!
Brian's Note: This would have to be just a part-time job for me, along with Treadmill Tester, unfortunately.
Luxury Bed Tester: In August 2009, Roisin Madigan, a college student from Birmingham, England, got paid about $1,600 to spend a month trying out top-of-the-line beds and mattresses ranging in price from $8,000 to $43,500," MSNBC reports.
Brian's Note: PERFECT! I am going back to college and this will be my major! What's your dream job? Send me info at email@example.com.
TEAM ROSS FINISHED SUCCESSFULLY!
RIDE FOR LIFE ALASKA IS DONE!!
Here are photos with captions of my family/team's ride along the Seward Highway from Anchorage to Seward. We raised $2686 as a team to help fight cancer, in memory of our Mom/Grandma Frances Ross. Click the photo below to see the gallery.
Thanks you to all of the people in Alaska and the Lower 48 who donated to Team Ross to help prevent cancer.
Special thanks to Chrys Castle for making our dedication placcards, and to our Equipment Manager Amber (the FRENEMY!!), who helped truck bikes and riders too and from the ride.
NOW ON TO BIKE MS IN SEPTEMBER! Keep checking back at www.BrianBikes.com, which I will update soon.
On Saturday, May 5th, I got to emcee the Alaska Zoo Kids' Fun Run. I had fun right along with the kids.
As they ran along routes passing by the animals, some of them gave the kids a little performance. Check out this video of a chorus of wolves!
And here is the photo gallery of the event.
Thank you to The Alaska Zoo for having me along, and to Your Alaska McDonalds (www.McAlaska.com ) and Healthy Futures (www.HealthyFuturesAK.org ) for sponsoring the event.
And thank YOU for loggin' where I'm bloggin'!
Check out updates at www.BrianBikes.com that include new info about free bike maintenance classes in Anchorage, trail maps, and a video about how to adjust brakes.
And here is a new photo gallery with pictures of me, and my TEAM ROSS family that's coming up to bike with me on Ride For Life Alaska.
Please help us fight cancer with a donation (tax deductible) at www.BrianBikes.com and www.TeamRossBiking.com. Thanks!
I AM GETTING GEARED UP FOR THE 2012 BIKING SEASON! Yes, I intend to bike for many miles and drag cancer and MS behind me a little bit closer to their demise.
And this year I'm not alone--I have family coming up to join me for Ride For Life Alaska, including my baby sister Lisa! Hey Lisa, don't get used to that cushy motorcycle--we're PEDALLING from Anchorage To Seward.
TEAM ROSS will be sisters Lisa, Jody, and nephew Shawn with me--and together we will bike cancer into submission. Help us out by making a donation at BrianBikes.com!
