BIKE TRAILS OF ANCHORAGE!! I love this website. Maps, descriptions, and photos of the various PAVED bike trails in Anchorage. One year, I even printed out the maps and kept them in my bike bag.
BICENTENNIAL PARK TRAILS!! If you like mountain biking and offroad single-track, here is a link with maps of Bicentennial Park and Campbell Tract trails. Bears do roam those woods, so be aware (and there is a bear aware class listed below on 5/2)

REI is going to teach you what to do if you meat...uh...meet a bear when you are out enjoying Alaska's scenery, and how to minimize your chances of bear encounters. They have an rep from Alaska Department of Fish & Game for this class. FREE. Click to register.

HOW TO ADJUST BRAKES
Here is a short video teaching basic brake adjustment (pad type, not disk brakes). It only shows how to align your mount and tension. Oh, and the guy has a very cool accent.
